Into the Night

I love taking photos at night, adjusting those dials on my camera...making sure the ISO is just so, and that I have the correct shutter speed...Love it!
(I have been shooting manual for over a month now, Im quite proud of myself :D)
So here are just a few I took at night...
Im so glad my husband is so supportive that he will try anything with me, for the sake of me learning my camera.   yay!

It is always nice to see someone else's perspective! I really like the different angles too. Manual is soooo much better, you will never go back!

I am so glad you are enjoying the manual settings on your camera. I like you was half scared of them to start with but without a doubt my skills have developed so much since I finally 'gave up' the auto settings. I love playing with the shutter speed too and sometimes when you get it 'wrong' you get some equally interesting results as when you get it 'right'

I love the bokeh photos you took... Well, all are great, but those ones especially got my eye :) I found you via the GFC blog hop and I'm so excited to follow you and your beautiful photographs. My husband gave me a Nikon D5000 for Christmas two years ago and I'm still sloooowly learning to shoot in manual. It is such a fun journey!

LOVE the second one. So abstract and beautiful. You will never regret switching to manual. Did you use a flashlight for the 3rd to last one? It reminds me of graffiti.

Sarah Segovia said...

thank you! and my husband used his iphone for the 3rd last one.
and no I do not regret it, I love it! :)

Now night photography is not something I have really tried outside of one sunset and the Super Moon. I think you just inspired me to give it a go! After a few months here and there, I am just getting comfortable with my manual settings as well - your photos are great! I especially like the coloured lights bokeh.

I'm not so great at night photography...but we live in a small town with not much nightlife so I don't have much chance to practice. anyway, I love your bokeh! and the writing with the sparkler(?). I followed your link from the Fabulous Friday Challenge at McDougall photography

I really like your pictures. I am fascinated by the zoomed in pictures where everything else is out of focus. For me, I like looking at the out of focus part and seeing what else was captured in the photo, that isn't readily observable, or intended to be caught. Love it.
